Contract & Service Overview

Mau Loa Learning specializes in a plethora of Applied Behavior Analysis services on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. We currently contract with the department of education, private providers, and most insurance providers to service any individual in need of ABA treatment regardless of insurance provider, severity, or diagnosis. In addition, we provide support to service providers to develop and maintain the skills needed to effectively deliver Applied Behavior Analysis. Our end goal is always the same- we want our clients to develop, generalize, and maintain the skills needed to live or work independently in the state of Hawaii.

School & teacher consultation

As a contracted ABA provider, MLL provides support services to clients and staff within the educational setting (i.e. public schools, intensive learning facilities, private specialty schools) using evidence based, behavior analytic practices with only board certified providers.

Our school and educator services include:

  • Individualized Behavior Plan development
  • Staff training (BST), supervision, coaching, and support
  • Program modification, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Professional work shops and trainings (i.e. Relias Learning, Catalyst, and QBS)
  • Individual Education Program (IEP) Development
  • Functional Behavior Assessments and Analysis
  • Parent training and home program design

BACB supervision

MLL contracts with school districts and programs to provide the BACB supervision requirements to their staff. As the state of Hawaii moves towards allowing only board certified providers to practice Applied Behavior Analysis in the public education system, we supervise and train their staff to not only obtain a board certification credential but to provide the most effective treatment possible to our Keiki in an educational setting.

Functional assessments & reports

MLL contracts with educational providers to update or begin functional assessments and various skills assessments approved by the BACB. In many instances, MLL will continue to support the providers by developing, training, and maintain ABA interventions and protocols.

Working with healthcare providers

As an In-Network ABA provider, MLL provides support services to clients and staff within the natural environment setting (i.e. families home, after school programs, community) using evidence based, behavior analytic practices with only board certified providers.

Our healthcare services include:

  • Individualized Behavior Plan development
  • Early Intervention Services
  • Adult Developmental and Vocational Services
  • Staff training (BST), supervision, coaching, and support
  • Program modification, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Professional work shops and trainings (i.e. Relias Learning, Catalyst, and QBS)
  • Advocacy and support for clients and caregivers (i.e. Individual Education Program (IEP) advocate, facilitating community services)
  • Functional Behavior Assessments and Analysis
  • Parent training and home program design

Direct Aba therapy

MLL provides direct ABA therapy in the home, school, and community environment using a tiered or direct approach. A tiered service would include the Registered Behavior Technician administering ABA therapy with direct oversight and supervision from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), or Doctoral level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D). We also provide "direct services" when applicable by directly providing therapy and program modification through a BCBA, BCaBA, or BCBA-D.

Parent training

When services are provided directly through Mau Loa Learning, parent training is mandated for services to be delivered. Parent and caregiver involvement is an essential component of any quality Applied Behavior Analysis program. Parent training goals and targets are developed with our caregivers to ensure the client is receiving consistent and effective therapy.
